Merry Christmas

Drawing of a Christmas tree with gifts, with purple lights behind. Caption reads: "Merry Christmas."

Merry Christmas from Iris Carden

To all the people
who read my words,
I wish the best Christmas
available in your world.

If you Christmas
is tinsel-covered,
and filled with family,
I wish you love.

If your Christmas
is in a manger laid,
and celebrated in church,
I wish you faith.

If your Christmas
makes you say "nope"
is a reminder of hurt
I wish you hope.

If your best Christmas
is always out of reach
If you don't feel good enough
I wish you peace.

If your Christmas is gifts
and shiny new toys
if it's surprises and giving
I wish you joy.

Christmas is different
in so many ways,
whatever your Christmas,
I wish you the best of days.
