Saturday Writing Club

Saturday Writing Club

I’m trialling a different format for Saturday Writing Club. All writers, aspiring writers, and people who wonder if they’d like writing, are encouraged to join in the fun.

This Week’s Prompt

A prompt is a jumping-off point. Use this to inspire what you’re going to write.

Taking a cue from Tina Turner, your prompt is, “If I could turn back time”.

Discussion

Today’s discussion topic: Who is a writer you admire and why?

My response: I like Stephen King, because I can be readings his books, and suddenly realise that what he’s taken me from normal life to something that is absolutely, completely, insanely, impossible, but I’ve happily followed him down the path to this point because the writing is so good.

What’s your response?

You can write your responses to the Prompt or the Discussion or both in the comments, or on your own website and post a link to the post in the comments. If you need a website, you can get a free WordPress site here. (If you use this referral link to set up a WordPress account, you and I will both receive WordPress credit.)

  1. I love Ted Dekker! He is so intricate and artistic. His books are like the wardrobe from Chronicles of Narnia, it’s a whole new world! Whether he’s touching the supernatural or writing about a serial killer, he gets me every single time.
